DECT Plug A4

DECT Plug A4 is a wireless RS232 data ratio connection. It is compatible with DECT Plug A2 and DECT Plug B1. For the radio link the DECT Engine MD32 data radio module by Siemens AG is integrated. The functions of DECT Plug A4 mainly comply with the functions of DECT Plug A2. DECT Plug A4 provides additionally the following equipment varieties:

  • Service with 7-12V
  • Service with 5V
  • Suppliance of supply voltage directly on the board or via RS232 ("phantomsupply")

DECT Plug A4 cannot be connected with internal antennas. It can only be connected with external antennas having a SMA-Plug. By request are other connection varieties available. The range of DECT Plug A4 is depending on the antenna used.

If requested the Plug A4 can be integrated into a case, measures (LxWxH) 135 x 60 x 35 mm. An optional mounting for the wall is available. This makes it possible to have a wall mounting with just one main.

The power supply takes place via RS232 ("phantomsupply"). The serial interfaces can be triggered directly via 3.0V TTL. The LED for status indication is for an external connection. So it is possible to put the Plug A4 into a case and to lead the LED on the outside. A CE-Certification is in work.

The advantage of DECT Plug A4 is to have more options available to connect external antennas, and to acomplish a "phantomsupply". The "phantomsupply" needs a special cable.

There are different configurations available:

*1 the phantom supply via 9pol. DSUB-cable uses main 9(RI). A special cable or an adapter are needed. A supply with +5V via this cable is not suggested.

*2 a cable RG174 is mounted. Length and connection (N/SMA/TNC, if applicable reverse) according to the customer's request.

Additionally to Plug A4 a cable and a wall plug transformer are purchasable. On adequate demand the plug A4 can be converted into RNR.
