The DECT Plug A1 is a cordless data radio communication RS232 connection with the following settings:
DECT-plug is based on the module MD32. All functions are described in the product description specified. In the short description the application is described as point-to-point connection. The POS-plug can also be configured as a server, then it can be connected to up to 16 terminal-plugs, therefore a special POS-software is demanded. The DECT-plug is to be converted through the configuration into POS- or terminal-plug. ConfigurationThe configuration is managed by AT-commands. Therefore a terminal program is demanded. To get from the data mode in to the command mode, three “+” are entered. To switch in the data mode, the command ATO is to be used. During configuration flux control must be shut of in the terminal-program. In order to group POS-plug with terminal-plug the following commands are demanded. Input in POS-plug
Input in terminal plug
*) After changing in to mode a restart takes place automatically, then a change is required in to command mode. **) The registration process must be activated in both plugs simultaneously. The registration takes place on air. A successful registration must be confirmed on both sides with OK. If a mistake has appeared, error will be shown. A new attempt can only be started after both plugs confirmed. Terminal-plugThe terminal-plug has a D-SUB 9 pen border and is connected with the interface RS232 of a printer or the announcement elements. The mechanical connection must be adapted individually according to device. An external current supply is demanded. The terminal-plug is configured as a DECT PP. D-SUB allocation of RS232 (X1)

External current supply (X2)The handle socket X2 is intended for the external current supply. The socket fulfils the German Industrial Standard 45 323. A plug power supply can be applied.
Software Up-DateThere is the possibility of actualising the software in the MD32 with a
loader program. Therefore Pin 3 must be connected with 6. Please, pay attention
to update instruction! The POS-plug has a D-SUB 9 pen border and is constructed for direct attachment with the COM 1 Port of the cash box. Therefore the cable cover must be removed and the D-SUB 9 plug must be attached firmly to the cash box. No external current supply or cable is demanded. The POS-Plug is configured as a DECT FP. Wincor–Nixdorf / NEC RS232 (X1)
Radio propagationThe radio standard DECT has 120 channels in the frequency range of 1,88 to 1,90 GHz. In case of disturbances better channels are applied automatically. With a transmission power of +24 dBm a range of 300 m can be reached outside and in halls. The range in buildings depends on the construction material. In brick buildings approx. 40 to 80 m, through stile concrete there is arrange of approx. 30 m. metal walls may create disturbances by interferences. MechanicsThe DECT-plug is meant for installation in non metallic housings. Additional aerials are not demanded. The plug has no cover and is to be attached by screws through the D-SUB plug mechanically.
